IE displays duplicate video in window

Hi,
I'm running 4.7 and trying to get the video module to work correctly in all browsers. So far, Firefox and Netscape playback videos fine, but in IE another window pops up in the upper left corner and starts playing the same video simultaneously when a videos play button is clicked. There are no menu buttons below this other pop-up video screen.

I added support for .avi files by following this thread http://drupal.org/node/68917 and have been able to upload .avi files.

Is there something else I need to change in the video.module file?
