Hello I'm looking for a way to allow my users to place a tag on a gmap and get an address in return and get a tag when input an adress.
I am really stucked on that since yesturday morning and I just have to make it work.

I found to ways that seems interesting but can't find any way to integrate them :

If somebody could help me, I would be so thanksfull

Cheers and good evening ;)

I created the JQuery Plugin and I just completed coding a drupal moodule that integrates the plugin. The basic functionality works fine (reverse geocoding, multiple addresses, etc), but I still need to do a bit more testing and also integrate some of the other features such as custom markers. I let you when it is complete.

Hey lesgreen . . .

I am too drooling over the prospect of this functionality (reverse geocoding) and wanted to know what progress you've made on this.

Do you need an actual street address? Or will longitude/latitude suffice?
I believe the location module, in combination with gmap, allows a user to specify a location by clicking on a map. The selected location's longitude and latitude are then stored in the database.

kobnim,

Gmap has a function already that if you put in the address, it will automatically apply lat/long coordinates. We want the reverse.

Reverse geocoding would make it so that when you click the map, thereby setting the lat/long, an address is looked up (through some service provider, most likely google in the case of gmap) and that address (123 XXX street, city, state, postal code) applied in the appropriate fields based on the location of the icon's lat/long.
