My published (production) site is on Upsun, drupal 11. My local development site is a ddev project. I've recently experimented with the module tome. It has produced a static site that I can run on my local apache. I would like to know how to publish this static site on Upsun. I've seen documentation at Upsun but I'm unclear on the git requirement. My static site is not in any git repository and Upsun requires git to communicate with a local project. Tome will export to any location I want and I'm currently using a location separate from all my web development then moving the code to /var/www/tome-site to run it on apache. The only issue I had with tome is that Google Maps are not recognized. Changing to Leaflet solved that problem.

I haven't used Tome, but as I
I haven't used Tome, but as I understand it, it outputs the content on your site to static HTML pages for faster loading.
Essentially, this means you can export the pages locally, and push them to a remote server, where they will act as your website. So Drupal only needs to be on your local machine.
You would then push these files to the webroot, and they become the filebase that people access your site with.
Tracking these files is generally done with Git, as it would track added, removed, and changed pages. There are other methods though, such as creating a .zip file of the exported HTML files, deleting the entire file system on the prod server, and replacing them with the .zip contents.
You have said however that you have a Drupal installation already in place. In this case, you would likely need to configure Tome locally, export your configuration, deploy that to your production server, import that configuration into your production server. That would configure Tome on the production server, and you could then export the files on that server. The configuration files would be used for migration and deployment of the configuration files between the local DDev instance and production server.
Contact me to contract me for D7 -> D10/11 migrations.
Or anything really. I'm friendly, and open to work or conversation.
