adding taxonomy default values to new nodes

Hi
Is there a way to add default values to new nodes
Here is the situation
I have two hives in my taxonomy

+ events
adults
kids
general

+ Site
events
area 1
area 2
area 2.1

when adding event node (i using event module - http://drupal.org/project/event )
i want to categorize the event as an event , but also as kind of event
I dont want to let the users choose that it's event, just what kind of event
can i add default value to this node ?
