After registering for my domain name, I installed Drupal. After installing Drupal and looking around my admin page for a few days, I decided to set my account offline until I added content. Now, I have content to add with absolutely no way to access my site! I contacted Bluhost and they said I have to contact someone from Drupal. This seems to be the only means of getting an answer through Drupal, so is there anyone who can help me?

Thank you for directing me to the troubleshooting page. I added it to my favorites for future reference. While I appreciate your help, my problem seems extra complicated. I made it to the login page. Now, my username/password combo do not work. I read other posts, which said to login with the username, user 1. I don't think I'm doing it right b/c it's not working. Sigh....

Thanks so much for your help. I did gather some very valuable information from your search. However, I'm still locked out of my own site. I made it to the login page, but now, my username/password doesn't work. I tried all of my favorite passwords but to no avail. When I request a new one, Drupal says I can't get it b/c the site is offline. Crap.

I saw in the troubleshooting section that you can change a password by logging into the Drupal database and executing a query. Like I said, I'm not as dumb as I seem, but that's a little over my head. Anything else I can do?

To set a new username and password for the super-admin (user 1), go to your database using phpmyadmin, click on the "SQL" tab, and run this:

UPDATE users SET name="your_username", pass=md5("your_password") WHERE uid=1

How do I get to my database?

There should be a menu option in your host's cpanel for managing your databases.

Usually phpmyadmin is in that menu.
