Albert Hughes

Who are you? (biography/background)

I’m Albert Hughes, ahughes3 on Drupal.org and I would like to express my interest and excitement to self-nominate for the Drupal Association at-large board seat. After discovering Drupal in 2007 and becoming a member of the Drupal community in 2008, I’ve had the opportunity to learn from, teach, and work with people and organizations from around the world as a project manager, developer, site builder, and architect on a variety of Drupal-based projects and platforms.

I’m currently in a Product Owner role at Stanford University. I work closely with a cross-functional team to define and prioritize features and requirements for a Drupal-powered web platform product that supports 130+ University websites. Before joining Stanford, I was a Technical Project Manager at Lullabot, the Sr. Manager of Marketing Technology for the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association, and a Drupal developer with the University of Texas at Austin.

Along with my experience using Drupal, I’ve worked with personal brands, small businesses, and organizations on over 500+ websites using content management systems such as WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace, and Tendenci.

Why are you running for a board seat at the Drupal Association? (mission/motivation)

I’m running for a board seat to offer my knowledge, experience, and network to serve, support, and represent the Drupal community and the association's mission to drive innovation and the adoption of Drupal around the world.

Why should members vote for you? (qualifications)

My story, experience, and diverse network inside and outside the Drupal community make me uniquely qualified to make a positive impact as the next at-large Board member.

I am a self-taught Drupaler who believes through first-hand experience in the power of the software, the community, and the positive impact it has made and can continue to make around the world.
