Problem/Motivation
Create a short description (200 characters or less) that will be easily understood by the Project Browser target audience of site builders and those new to Drupal. The short description should answer the question - "what does this module do in a non-technical way".
https://www.drupal.org/project/linkit
For module maintainers = the short description should be added to the Summary field off the Body on the project page. The short description
will be displayed on the cards in the Project Browser grid and list views.
Proposed Resolution
The LinkIt module allows a content editor to insert links to nodes, users, taxonomy terms, files, or comments into a rich-text field. The module uses an autocomplete-enabled search to find entities with canonical URLs that can be added to the field. This allows the link added in the field to retain the destination even if the URL changes.

cmah commentedThe proposed resolution is 339 characters, 139 characters too long. I propose instead something shorter such as:
Linkit provides an autocomplete interface for internal and external linking in rich-text editors, enabling sustainable canonical linking via a user-friendly UI.

We, the mentoring team, are triaging issues for first time contributors at DrupalCon Lille and I think this is a good issue for the contribution day.
We are reserving this issue so please don't work on this issue if you are not at DrupalCon Lille. You can continue the work when the event is over.
