The Project Browser Initiative is working on a new page for adding and installing modules. The default display of the Project Browser will show Drupal modules that have a release that is compatible with the version of Drupal the site is using. A card will be displayed for each of the modules (projects). The key components displayed on the card will include a logo, a short description and the categories this module belongs to.
The number of categories was recently reduced from 55 down to 19 to help folks searching for modules to more effectively use the category filter.
First, read through the module’s project page on Drupal.org . If needed, spin up the module on SimplyTest.me or DrupalPod to understand what the module does. Then review the Category Definitions and suggest 1-3 categories for the module. (When in doubt, err on the side of fewer, not more!)
Proposed Categories
- Administration Tools
- Content Editing Experience
- Automation

philalonso commentedI'm working on this at Portland2024
Comment #10
philalonso commentedI've reviewed the categories for Scheduler. I find the two existing categories appropriate: Administration Tools, . I think that an additional category is appropriate as well, "automation."

jonathan1055 commentedI agree with the three categories. I have already updated the actual Scheduler project, but I don't think the categories are shown on the project's front page, are they?
leslieg commentedThanks jonathan1055 Yes, the categories are displayed on the card and will be displayed on the detail page.
Marked as fixed and credit given

jonathan1055 commentedThis is an excellent initiative to add, thank you for working on it. I have now downloaded the Project Browser module, and can see the categories show there. When I made the comment in #14 I had not seen the Browser screens, as was referring to the fact that the categories are not displayed on a project's front page on drupal.org. But that is out of scope of this issue.
