On the front page the process is well explained but there is no documentation in core MAINTAINERS.txt or anywhere I could find in the documentation on d.o about who is on "The coding standards committee" or who is a "coding standards maintainer". Is that the same thing as the Technical working group? Because it sounds different.

Current members of the coding standards committee are Howard Tyson, Jeremy Thorson, Alex Bronstein and Pieter Frenssen.

This is indeed different from the TWG but there is significant overlap which makes it confusing. You can regard the coding standards committee as a specialist subset of the TWG, with most of the same people involved :)

Here is a patch that adds this information to MAINTAINERS.txt. This will need to be approved by Dries. Moving to the core queue.

Actually this does not belong in core's MAINTAINERS.txt since the TWG is cross-project. It probably needs to be updated here:
http://cgit.drupalcode.org/governance/tree/charters/technical-working-gr...

Also see:
#2428241: Remove msonnabaum from TWG charter and indicate that tizzo is the chair

So we need an RTBC patch in the governace queue to move forward. Once the governance is updated maybe we can discuss whether it also needs to be a core topic. Thanks!

A related issue might put a link to the overall Drupal governance documentation in MAINTAINERS.txt.

Having a list of people on the project page of the coding standard project would be fine too. The main issue was/is that there is no way to know who to ask for more details without insider knowledge.

Anyway, glad it's getting worked out. Thank you.

I think this is an oudated duplicate of #3252921: Add members to and remove members from the Technical Working Group, other than:

A related issue might put a link to the overall Drupal governance documentation in MAINTAINERS.txt.

Wanted to open an issue if this has not been done in the years since. Currently the subsystem maintainers intro text links to the generel governance docs though:

The Drupal core subsystem maintainers oversee the development of Drupal
subsystems. See https://www.drupal.org/contribute/core-maintainers for more
information on their responsibilities, and to find out how to become a subsystem
maintainer. Current subsystem maintainers:

@xjm, did you mean to link the governance from the top of MAINTAINERS.txt?

As shown above the file already links to the overall governance. Otherwise this is a duplicate of #3252921: Add members to and remove members from the Technical Working Group.
