So I set up my server 2008 with IIS7 and mysql and the installation went fine. No errors, I created the first user etc etc, but when I try to make any changes on the website it doesnt get saved.

Nomather what I do, when I click the "Save" button at the bottom of the administration section I go back to the frontpage but nothing has changed. I go into the same settings and they are all at default, not what I set them to.

So, i guess there is a rights problem somewhere.

I checked the rights on the drupal folder and they look OK, the IIS user has access to everything accept sites/default .

When you make a change on drupal, is it stored in the filesystem or in the database? If its the database shouldnt all the rights be OK since the install went fine ?

I'm having similar problems. In my case I can create pages and save them but the body is not saved and none of the links below the body field are active (Input Format etc.). I can change the title but not do anything with the body. I had problems importing the database from my development database so I suspect that. I am going to do some more research and will report back if I uncover anything useful.

Since my reply I completely replaced the client files and database so that they mirror my development files and nothing has changed. I still cannot update the content. I guess that one thing that might be different is the fact that I am using a test environment on GoDaddy. It is a Preview DNS environment because I haven't switched the name servers to point to the production environment. I wonder if this is contributing to the problem.

I replaced all of the client files and the database tables when I upgraded to 6.3 and the problem still occurs. Because of this and a similar thread I'm really expecting the problem is related to using the PreviewDNS.com subdomain. It will be interesting to see what happens when I switch to the production environment.

Drupal 6.2

The site is under construction. I have created several Pages (with no content) and then created Blocks to be placed on given pages.

Example: Page Name = Links
Block Names: Links - Verified, Links - State Departments, Links - Tenn, Links - State Societies, Links - General.

I drag them to this order:

Links - Verified
Links - Tenn
Links - State Societies
Links - State Departments
Links - General

Then I click the Save Blocks button. I get the green message at the top telling me all has been saved. HOWEVER, when I look at the block list again they are back in alphabetic order like this:

Links - General
Links - State Departments
Links - State Societies
Links - Tenn
Links - Verified

I have created several other pages and was able to successfully rearrange the blocks for them with no problem. The problem started when I created the Links page and the blocks to go it. I can't seem to reorder them.

Any idea what is going on?

Thanks for your time.
