We have started the development for ShareThis 8.x version at https://github.com/fly2abhishek/sharethis

Requesting a maintainership for the project to be able to push the code to drupal.org

Previous attempts have been made to contact the owners though other tickets:

I'm glad to help, though it's been a long time since I've done anything with Drupal. I'm lost in the UI. Either I don't have access to add you as a maintainer or I can't find it. Any suggestions on where to look? :-)

I have seen abhishek.ananad already has vcs access to project https://www.drupal.org/node/232050/maintainers
Do you need more help in granting the permissions ?

do you need access for creating new releases ? either collaborate with the existing maintainers for that or feel free to apply for it in project ownership issue queues https://www.drupal.org/project/issues/projectownership

P.S : I'm also working with abhishek on this project and would like to get a stable release of this module soon.Feel free to add me as co-maintainer
