Not sure I agree to this. Have the maintainer for ckeditor_link said that it won't be ported to Drupal 8 and that your module is the official replace module?

I think this module CKeditor_link should be in the Drupal 8 core. I have no doubt this is maybe the first module I work on to get it into the core if I had the knowledge, that I hope to have in the future.

It seems to me that this issue should be marked "Closed (duplicate)" after adding something like the following to the project page:

In Drupal 8/9, this module is superseded by Linkit and CKEditor Entity Link.
