Hello Hans,

Thanks for your post to Paid Services. In the hope of making this a more effective forum, I’m in the process of developing some standard “FAQ” responses to posts here.

Thus:

[x] Please describe your site/project in more detail. Taking the time to provide a reasonably full description to potential consultants saves everyone time, helps people match their skills to your project, and lets people ask better questions.
In particular, ____________________
“50 page site” is too general. How many sections does the site have? What kind of site is it? What kind of graphical ‘spec’ do you have, and how well do you need the site to that specification? What browsers do you need to support, how well?

[x] Please provide a brief (1-2 sentence) summary of the nature of the site and/or site issues. This is crucial for consultants to evaluate what you’re doing / if they can help you.

[x] Please provide a rough estimate of the timeline in which you will need the work done. Keep in mind that many consultants may be well-booked in the near-term, and that rush/immediate jobs may cost more.

[x] Please provide an indication of rough budget scope. While this doesn’t need to be final or set in stone, it allows consultants to get an idea of whether expectations are in line, and to respond with a good idea of what they can do for you within your budget.

[x] Note that your listed compensation appears out-of-line with prevailing rates. For comparison, the Drupal Association, a non-profit, pays experienced developers $120/hr. to work on projects. Also note that an experienced Drupal developer may be substantively more efficient than a developer in other platforms.

[x] More fully completing your profile can create greater trust between you and potential consultants.

[x] I [HAVE] confirmed your new account, based on the presumption that you are not a forum spammer. Welcome! and please do realize, we are a community. [x] Note as well that you may wish to enable private messaging (PM) for your account.

Providing the above information is likely to significantly increase the quality of responses. As well, I’d like to mention that it is often very important to work with someone who specializes in Drupal primarily.

Thanks for your attention!

Best regards, Ken
