Hi,

I'm pretty new to Drupal, and I have a problem that I see nowhere else.
When I click on the modules tab in the administration menu, or when I navigate to /admin/modules, I get the usual page, but, it's displayed in default CSS and there is no list of my modules.
I cannot activate, configure or edit and module I have installes on my drupal site.
It's driving me nuts, please help me.

The latest change I made before this happened is I installed the block class module.
I have since deleted this module through filezilla, and nothing changed.

Sorry for this very late follow-up, as I was on vacation, and this is a side-project.

Here's what happened today:

as suggested by dotmundo,

1. I cleared all the cache using drush

2. I tried to disable the block class module, and it wasn't enabled.

3. I enabled the module, just to see what happens.

4. I went back onto my website and, of course, since I erased the cache, the unformatted remains of my modules page was gone, so my modules pages is entirely absent now.

It is very strange, because it is the only page that ceased to function, and even sub-urls such as modules/update are still working perfectly.

Did you enable the block class module?

If so, and you deleted without uninstalling that will cause a problem. In this case you need to go into the database, look at the system table, find the record for the block class module and set the status to 0.

I am not sure since it's when I clicked "activate installed modules" that it went bad.

I would check the system table.

As I said I am quite new, and so I would like to learn how to access the said system table

using your servers database tool
open the database
look for the table named system

If you have Drush installed, which is a command-line admin interface, go to the webroot where you installed Drupal and use any of the following commands:

#Status
drush st

#Clear all caches
drush cc all

#List all modules
drush pm-list

#Disable module
drush dis <machine name of your module>

#Enable module
drush en <machine name of your module>

#Show Drupal log
drush ws

It is not recommended to delete the module without disabling it. I would copy back the module folder and then use Drush to disable it. Where exactly did you install it originally?

Good luck

Go to phpMyAdmin or (via command line) and select your database. Then, look for "system" table in the list of tables. Then, search for a row where name is "block_class" or (something similar). Then, edit that row and change the status column to 0 so that the module is not active anymore. Then, you should be able to access your admin page.

MySQL command to do that quickly:
UPDATE system SET status = 0 WHERE name = 'block_class';

Then, truncate (empty) all cache tables or run "drush cc all"

PS: Just take a back up of your data base before making any changes.
1) drush sql-dump > path_to_file.sql
2) use phpMyAdmin to export the database

I would not recommend doing this at all especially if one is a MySQL novice. Since you are already telling him to clear the cache using Drush, he might as well try to disable the module using Drush.

I see your point.

But if there is a fatal error in PHP run time, some drush commands do not work :-(

We don't know that yet and editing the database FIRST is not a good practice.

Got it :-)

Also, can you post a screenshot of your modules page? It sounds strange that the page loads, but modules do not display...

what admin theme is in use? if not a core theme, switch to a core theme and test.

I would disable non-core modules via Drush to see if that works. If not, then you have a very bad installation. Read this.

What happens when you do a "drush pm-list"?
