Heya all --

I've been poking through Drupal for the last week or so, evaluating for a redesign of an existing site. I have a pretty good beginner's handle on things, but wanted to get the pro thoughts on how to do this.

The site has the following tree structure:

* News (also home page)
* About
- 6 personal sub-pages
* Store
* Upcoming Events (as a list, not a calendar)
* Blogs
- 6 personal sub-blogs
* Documents and Articles
- ongoing new articles
* Photo Gallery
* Newsletter
* Forums
* Polls

At the first page of each section there is a intro paragraph and image. This is the main hold out so far.

I have figured out how to get Gallery2, Store and Forums working.

Upcoming events is strange -- I have installed the Events module, but I dont know how to get it to just list the events.

All in all, I'm not sure how to go about setting it up. I've been using Xoops, and the Drupal way is different. I think I like it more. But The simple stuff, like the difference between a page and story and how to set up navigation, still eludes me.

Thanks for any help!

I made a video (screencast) on how to make a menu using the menu and the menu on the fly modules.
