drupaledmonk commentedThe project never really kicked off. I happen work to on some custom code 3 years back. I would be glad to help you out in anyway I can.
I am not sure if the module maintainer is still around working on this module. I would suggest you start of with a sandbox module and then request the project maintenance staff to give you ownership of this module.

chepierre commentedMy company presently uses Netsuite and we would be very interested in seeing any integration that happens here.

torgospizzaWe also need NetSuite integration to overcome limitations with Commerce Reporting. Happy to help in any way I can.

neugon commentedI have been working with Netsuite for three years and would be interested on participating on the development ofa Drupal module...do we know what are the things that need to be integrated? Netsuite is a big system with inventory management, accounting, project management, pay roll etc etc just curious
Comment #5
torgospizzaHi, @neugon!
I think there is definitely a lot of overlap in the sense that there are many systems which could plug into the SuiteTalk API. For our use case specifically we're looking to integrate Commerce orders with transactional data in NS. We're not using any NetSuite e-commerce solutions for checkout or anything like that, but we use it for accounting, and so I personally would love to have a layer between Commerce and NetSuite to allow real-time transactional data to be posted to NetSuite and allow tracking of financial data that way. Right now we must export our sales data into a CSV and import later in NetSuite.
I'm not sure what is involved; particularly in the case of Commerce there are a lot of facets including a Commerce SKU <-> NetSuite ID relationship, not to mention IDs for customers, and all that the NetSuite API entails in order to build an order from the relevant data.
I imagine there will most likely end up needing to be an overall NetSuite module and then a bunch of submodules that allow other functionality or integration to take place. A wrapper for their API library would be nice too, so we can further build out integration modules as needed; for instance as soon as we had a wrapper or connector capable of creating/retrieving Customers and Orders, a Commerce+NetSuite module would not be far behind.
Thinking of it this way I think at the very least we should try to get a Connector module started first; that would pave the way for further integration to begin.
Anyone else with specific needs feel free to chime in.

neugon commentedHi torgospizza
I think what you are looking for is an e-commerce type of integration. I know hooks are the way to go, as the triggers fired on the right spots where we can get the data (sales orders, customers etc). We may want to create a cron to sync inventory information, not sure if this is the best way on Drupal.
I am not sure if using SuiteTalk, Netsuite has a decent way to communicate via REST, but that means there would be dependencies on Netsuite and maybe for deployment would not be the best option for Drupalers.
Thanks

thomasmurphy commentedGlad to see there's some interest here, I'm also just starting out on a netsuite integration project so it will be great to have some company! One of the first questions I'm trying to answer is does Netsuite have a RESTful API or not, and if so, where is it documented?
torgospizzaA colleague and I right now are working on a custom solution, basically a generated report that can be easily imported by NetSuite.
Info on SuiteTalk here: http://www.netsuite.com/portal/developers/resources/suitetalk.shtml

janvonmulert commentedWe are investigating the use https://www.drupal.org/project/wsclient to interact with the suitetalk SOAP service. Worth looking at.

geneescober commentedI am also glad to see there is revived interest in this module. I have an upcoming project as well.
You can find information about RESTlets here.

cferthorneyWould be interesting to see if this gets off the ground. I'm investigating viability of Drupal for a client we have who isn't happy with the current system their using. It would need to be "full" implementation in terms of orders (Multi currency), stock tracking, delivery tracking etc. I'm looking over their PHP toolkit now to see about viability. Will need review the roadmap and add thoughts to that as well.

mengi commentedIs anyone offering to take ownership of this project? The creator of this issue (Darren Oh) hasn't responded since he created it and neither has the owner (rport) of the project.
Pretty sure this issue is on #4 of the 'dealing with unsupported projects' guidelines (https://www.drupal.org/node/251466).
darren ohI am willing to either take ownership or to serve as a maintainer.
torgospizza@Darren Oh: I'd vouch for you! Can you provide a patch or any type of information as to what your integration ended up looking like?
If you want to be maintainer, according to the guidelines you need to set the Project to "Drupal.org project ownership" and set the Component to "Ownership transfer" so the project team can look at this issue.
Our solution was essentially some custom fields on our products, and some custom report code that needs to be run manually. Not ideal, so anything that ends up being more streamlined than that would of course be of interest.

darren ohWe did not finish our Netsuite integration. One of our developers started working on code to import Netsuite users to Drupal. The full scope of our planned integration was as follows:

dddave commentedCould you please link to the project in question. Do you request ownership or co-maintainership?
darren ohI am requesting co-maintainership of Netsuite Integration.

dddave commentedAdded you as co-maintainer.

thomasmurphy commentedWe've completed a netsuite integration for a client which has been in production for a few months. We essentially wrapped the PHP toolkit as includes for a module and then called some of the objects to do what we needed specifically with the SuiteTalk SOAP API. We did look into making a generic module, but we couldn't cover the extra cost of a generalised solution, but if you run into any confusion we might be able to help you out.
