Hello all,
After trying unsuccessfully to figure out how to show eBay auctions in one of my websites (I'm not very knowledgable w/ php), and not really getting very far with my posts on the Drupal forums, I ended up purchasing a script that spits out eBay auctions the way I wanted them to, in a format that I really liked and wanted to incorporate into my website.
The script I purchased is called phpBay Pro (note that's an affiliate link). It's available as a stand alone API, or as a wordpress plugin. I'm hoping to figure out how to incorporate this into a full-blown module at some point, but my coding knowledge isn't anywhere near where it needs to be.
Anyway, I bought this script for $39, and had to tinker with it to work with Drupal. I've set up a tutorial on how to do this at one of my web sites: http://www.AuctionsInSite.com (you can go directly to the tutorial HERE).
I don't sell the script, but the site does have affiliate links back to the owners of the script. I just walk you through the steps of getting it to integrate into Drupal.
It really is a nice script...very customizable. Plus, it allows you to pick however many items you want to show, in whatever category you want. This provides for very specific auction results to incorporate into your web site or blog. Sign up for a commission junction ebay affiliate account, plug in your pid, and you could earn some commissions on any click-throughs and subsequent purchases.
One cool feature that I haven't figured out how to convert to Drupal yet (still working on it) is that it will mask the incoming/outgoing eBay links so it appears they are coming from your site. So, you get some good SEO relevant content from the auctions, and you won't be penalized by a bunch of eBay links in your page.
If you're interested in learning more, you can check out the free tutorial and examples at my website:
Or, you can go directly to the script seller's site by either typing in the address to your browser, or by following this affiliate link: Wired Studios.com
If anyone has any interest in a full-fledged Drupal module for this (instead of copying in the 9 lines of php code as shown in the example) let me know and we'll see if we can pull together and get it done!
-Thanks

eBay Partners Program Update
With eBay migrating to their own affiliate program and moving away from Commission Junction, the phpBay script used in this tutorial has changed.
Althought the tutorial is not up-to-date for these changes, there is a rough draft of changes to be made to the phpbay pro api 2.5.1 in the AuctionsInSite.com Forum. The full tutorial will be updated soon.
