I am looking for a way to add a text overlay to uploaded images in Drupal 7. One that is customized, not site-wide. Ideally this would be what users fill out as either the Alt Text field or the Title field with the image upload, but an acceptable solution could be to overlay the text from a field in the user's profile.

Essentially this is just to serve as a copyright notice for the images for a website that will host content from a variety of individuals posting their images.

I currently have http://drupal.org/project/imagecache_actions 7.x-0.0 installed, and I was intending to add http://drupal.org/project/imageapi_text since text is not supported for ImageCache Actions for D7, but ImageAPI Text is also not available for D7. So I'm a bit at a loss on what to do now.

Hi Cdaid,

I'm having the same problem.

It is very strange that something basic as a text overlay is not included in the core D7.
I can't even seem to find it as a loose Module. The available was not suited for D7 anymore...

Anyone knows something more about this issue?

Thanks ahead!

one method would be to use a field on the content type in which the image is included and then use CSS to lay the text over an image.

I would like to use as less css possible...as this is not my strong side

it's one of the easiest to learn. Consider getting better acquainted with it. The modules in question generated what can be equated as watermarks rendered on the images.

Ok, I can try to give it a shot.

If not I will just make layovers in photoshop and save all as .jpg

As slide are not being changed everyday ...

But I will have a look at the css first ;)
