Hi
Please advice as to which player is better to be used for drupal video module. Should I incorporate a Windows media player or a flash player. ..........or there exists any other better option as well.
Actually a player which can support all types of media files including .3gp would be welcome. Please suggest.
Thanks n Regards

Flash = Broad Compatibility
If you want to reach the widest possible audience, use Flash. Flash has handled video reasonably well since version 7, and the market penetration of versions 7 and up was 98% last time I checked. Use anything else, and you'll be requiring a non-trivial number of your visitors to install new software.
Whether or not they'll bother installing new software in order to view your site depends on your audience, but most people (i.e. regular non-geeky, non-enthusiast users) won't bother.
Thanks Zen
Thanks for the update. I hope flash will be able to handle .3gp videos as well.
Actually right now I am using windows media player and it has caused some real issues.....

FLV Encoding Software
If you need a program that can encode Flash video (FLV format), you might want to take a look at Riva. It's a free transcoding application that converts videos from AVI, MPEG, QuickTime, and WMV to FLV.
Also worth considering are video hosting services like Google Video. They do the transcoding for you, serve up the video in a Flash player, and take the bandwidth load for the video off of your own server. Another possibility that I'm looking at for a potential client of mine is Brightcove. They're the "new kid on the block" in this department, but offer several features that Google Video and YouTube lack. You can read a Newsweek interview with Brightcove's CEO to get an idea of where the company is headed.
Best of luck!
Thanks Adam
Thank you Adam, that was really helpful.
Can I put another question......Do you have any idea about the best place to host a drupal site.
I contacted Godaday.com, but they say they are not apt for it.
