How about adding an option in the adsense/settings menu that displays an ad defined under the option selection after the !--break-- tag in content pages, stories, and events? This way you don't have to manually enter the adsense tag in every content node.

For instance, I would want every story to show a banner ad [adsense:468x60:1:1] after the !--break-- tag.
