I created the mysql database, tables etc, edited conf.php to suit my needs and pointing to index.php gives me an internal server error (error 500). I tested it on Apache server running on win32 environment (win xp, php 4.2.3, mysql 4.0.1 alpha, apache 1.3.26).
The site install path is: http://localhost/~siwy/drupal/
What could be wrong?
Thanks,

php 4.2.3
I'm not sure, but I've had problems with drupal when switching to php 4.2.3. Switching back to php 4.2.2 solved the problems for me.
error 500 isn't really helpfu
error 500 isn't really helpful for diagnosting your problem. what does the apache error.log say? or, if you run php as cgi, the ScriptLog (needs "ScriptLog D:/some/path" enabled in your apache httpd.conf)? what about the php error log (you need "error_log = D:/some/path" enabled in your php.ini)?
