I have forums on my site and they work very well. They are currently set at Threaded - Expanded. however, we have given members the choice to view them any way they want by allowing them to select their choice a the top of the forum.

My question is with numbering?

Is there any way to set the numbering in the top right corner of each post to follow the posts in order of when posted instead of just number straight down in order of the place on the page

I think this would be very difficult. The only way I can think of doing it is to loop through all of the posts in the thread and create an array of IDs and positions and then use that. Probably not very efficient.

Figured that was sort of going to be the answer but thought I would I throw it out anyhow. Sounds like a huge hack that would not really be worth it.
