Goal:
The Usability group holds weekly Zoom meetings to review usability issues with Drupal core and contributed projects. Join a meeting, where you can participate in usability reviews and discussions. Optionally, present a usability issue at the meeting.
Detailed steps:
  1. Set up prerequisites: Log in, Chat account (join the #ux channel on Slack, specifically), Zoom, and (if you want to present) either Online testing site or Local development site from Common Prerequisites for Contributors.
  2. In the #ux Slack channel, locate information about the next usability group meeting (as of February 2021, meetings are being held on Fridays at 10:00 US/Eastern time). Current Zoom meeting links, meeting schedules, and meeting agenda issues are posted in the Slack channel.
  3. Check the next meeting agenda issue and recent posts in the Slack channel to see what usability reviews are planned. Optionally, prepare for the meeting by reading the issues that are being reviewed.
  4. After participating in a previous meeting, if you want to present an issue for review at the next meeting:
    • Search for an issue in the Drupal core project with the "Needs usability review" tag (or in anther project) that interests you. Alternatively, offer to present one of the issues that has been posted recently in the #ux Slack channel or is already on the meeting agenda.
    • Read and understand the issue, including what the usability questions are that need review.
    • Add a comment to the meeting agenda issue saying you would like to present the issue at the meeting. Put a link to your issue in the Related Issues field (under Issue Summary & Relationships). Save your comment and issue updates.
    • Set up a local development site or online testing site before the meeting, so that you can share your screen at the meeting.
  5. Join the Zoom meeting. Participate in the discussions and/or present your issue when it's your turn.
