Support for Drupal 7 is ending on 5 January 2025—it’s time to migrate to Drupal 10! Learn about the many benefits of Drupal 10 and find migration tools in our resource center.
If I have understood "https://www.drupal.org/project/contrib_tracker/issues/2574111" correctly we need to stop using this module, and start using media from Drupal core?
Is there a migration planned?

joseph.olstadexisting projects can continue to use file entity
new projects should use media in > 8.4.x core
I am still accepting community reviewed patches for file_entity , there's quite a few RTBC that will probably be going in soon.
