Wysiwyg editor with special feature

Wikiwyg is a simple javascript wysiwyg editor under development at this address http://wikiwyg.net/

One feature is especially interesting : clic on a (or many) page section and edit it. Simple and efficient. Could be a good way to continue to improve collaborative book features.

Sincerely.

Bad Behavior module available

Hi,

I am announcing that I have released a first version of a module implementing "bad behavior". The badbehavior module stops comment spam before it starts by trapping and blocking spambots before they have a chance to post comments.

It logs all suspicious activity, and has admin pages for reviewing those logs.

We wish well for the Mambo developers

As reported here earlier, the Mambo development team has decided to part ways from the parent company that has led the project until now. As a Drupal developer, I and many of my colleagues are shocked by these news.

Our software may rival but fostering a healthy environment in which Open Source can happen is extremely important and an issue equally dear to us all. We hope that the outcome of this decision will be better software and more interest in Open Source.

Mambo team splits from parent corp. (Mambo Foundation)

The lead developers of the Mambo CMS are splitting from the Mambo Foundation. Here are the reasons they cite:

# The Mambo Foundation was formed without regard to the concerns of the core development teams. We, the community, have no voice in its government or the future direction of Mambo. The Mambo Steering Committee made up of development team and Miro representatives authorized incorporation of the Foundation and should form the first Board. Miro CEO Peter Lamont has taken it upon himself to incorporate the Foundation and appoint the Board without consulting the two development team representatives, Andrew Eddie and Brian Teeman.

Although Mr. Lamont through the MSC promised to transfer the Mambo copyright to the Foundation, Miro now refuses to do so.

They also articulate a bunch of qualities that they are trying to preserve or gain in splitting:

We, the core development teams, unanimously believe:

  • An open source project is about people producing free and open software and contributing to something as a team for the benefit of others.
  • Open source projects reflect the spirit of collaboration and fun while garnering community feedback and providing good governance that allows for business to confidently invest in its development.
  • Open source projects are open to the participation of anybody who can contribute value and is willing to work with the community.

Etopian Update Patches

This thread is to keep track for upgrade patches that are issued by Etopian Services with each release to update the current Drupal branch to the latest release from the immediate previous release.

The patches will always be found at the URL below:
http://drupal.etopian.net/patches

Edited (BM): moved to "News and Announcements". While Etopian/Sami may be providing a useful service, none of these patches are verified in any way by Drupal core.

Web Designer/Programmer Request

I found out about this through an RSS based alert I have setup. Maybe someone here would be interested in the opportunity.
