Hello to all Drupal programmers!
Help and expertise is sought for an exciting web programming project with a real positive impact on efforts to further International Development.
Engineers Without Borders UK is a student-run charity that empowers students to apply their skills to solving the problems of the developing world. One of the fastest growing organizations in the UK, EWB-UK's network of 14 branches already encompasses a membership of several thousand students across the country, and this figure increases year on year.
A key obstacle to further expansion of UK-based and international operations is the lack of an adequate IT infrastructure, highlighted at this year's Annual General Meeting. An initiative has been undertaken to address this with ambitious plans for a completely new online information resource, incorporating a Content Management System, email management and more.
Current specification is not fixed but looks to deploy a customized installation of Drupal. A test installation has already been deployed on a development server and work is slowly progressing.
Working on this project is strictly voluntary but will be fully credited and employment references can be provided. Those heavily involved may also be invited to the head office at the University of Cambridge for a multi-day intensive brainstorming and development session.
