Module to play chess online (beta)

Hello, friends!

We are group of developers working on chess server, and we've just developed new module for Drupal 4.7.x. This module acts as a client for our server, so, if installed on any Drupal website, all users of this site may easily join to play at our server without any registration there! All they need to have is username on any site with this chess module.
Brief list of module features:
- any user can play chess at our server with any players from other websites with module installed (and with our server's native players);
- website wiil receive information about every game played by it's user, so, it can store and update Elo rates of it's users and PGN-logs of their games;
- any user can review any of his/her games (or any games of other users of website with module installed) using our viewer (Java applet) provided with module;
- website admin can set permissions for users to play chess and to access chess statistics (described below);
- finally, module can generate blocks and pages to list top players (sorted by Elo rate) and to list games (recent games, all games, all games of selected user). And every game in list contains a link to locally review it by anyone (with proper permissions).

Tutorial: The Anatomy of a Front Page

I recently revamped the front page look at Ubercart.org in preparation for an eventual (hopefully sooner rather than later) first release. In the process, I learned once again that all the wonderful contributors have made Drupal an excellent tool for designing web pages. With a simple combination of Panels, Views, and Drupal's own content type creation, I was able to achieve what you see there with no headache whatsoever. It was just too easy!

What isn't necessarily easy is knowing the tools exist to do something like that and how to use them together for your site. I decided to spend some time writing up my experience, including the preliminary thought processes and then actual configuration of the modules, so others could benefit from my fun. The voice in the tutorial is pretty informal, but I trust it gets the job done. Also, I'm just darn proud of the end result and thought I'd put this up to get some feedback while helping people, too. ; )

ANN: phpEdu becomes Drupalised!

This is to announce the redevelopment of phpEdu, a portal platform for educational instituitions, as a set of Drupal modules.

A couple of years ago, I started working on a CMS solution for managing educational isntituitions especially tertiary ones (colleges, polytechnics, universities etc). The result was a registered project on Sourceforge and a pre-alpha version.
