Ubercart 1.0 Beta 1 Released

Well, it's been more than a year since we started working on the Ubercart project. During that time the scope of the project has widened, a third developer has come to work with us, and I spent some time getting married and taking my wife to meet some cool folks at Drupalcon Barcelona. Work on Ubercart has plugged along at a steady pace, and I've shied away from leaving behind the alphas as long as possible, convinced that we can always fix or improve just one more thing. However, the project is now at the point where we need to move on to the beta phase.

Report List of Drupal Modules for Italians users

I have write a list of some Drupal 5.x Modules (about 60 for now) with a small description of use and category into a nice table that use javascript code for better sorting items.

I think that can help new user to search much fast any of these and i hope to enlarge this list to adding all modules for 5.x branch.

Chuva Inc. is opening for business

We are very very proud to present our new Drupal start-up and the first Brazilian Drupal-only office. Chuva Inc. is now open for business.

We at Chuva Inc. will be working with development, consultancy, training and everything else related to Drupal.

Alternative to drupal module directory

http://drupal.hyrme.com/ is a site dedicated to creating listings of drupal modules and providing an alternate interface for searching through and rating the site. I find it a bit easier to use than the current drupal.org module pages.

You can login with your drupal.org username and password to post comments and rate modules. I am looking forward to your constructive ideas.

Drupal DevRoom at fosdem2008 : send in your proposals by January 25th!

As you may have already heard, the Drupal project was allotted a DevRoom at Fosdem2008 for 200 people for a full day.

This means a full day of Drupal talks, showcases, ad-hoc hacking and getting ready for DrupalconBoston the week after.

GHOP Mid-Term Status Report

Google Highly Open Participation Contest
Note: This post assumes that you are aware of the Google Highly Open Participation Contest. If not, see that link, or listen to the latest Lullabot podcast about GHOP.

Since our last status report on December 13, 2007:

  • An additional 12 students have taken on tasks from the Drupal project, bringing our total to 54 student participants.
  • 11 new students have completed one or more tasks, bringing our total to 38, which means about 70% of our students have completed tasks. Of that number, 65% are brand new contributors who came to the Drupal project because of this contest.
  • There have been a total of 67 tasks completed so far, which is nearly double since the last report. The leaders in terms of raw task numbers are cwgordon7 (6) and Corsix (7), with Etinin (4) and ezyang (3) coming up behind.
  • We have 97 available task slots remaining. The community created and offered to mentor 31 new tasks since the last status report, but we still need people to Propose new tasks and, perhaps more importantly, Review and refine existing task ideas.
  • We also need help reviewing tasks promptly and throughly. Please keep your eyes on the list of GHOP issues, specifically those that need review. Note that we have a good mix of types of tasks (documentation, marketing, training, etc.), so non-coders can help as well.

There are fewer than 3 weeks left to propose tasks and fewer than 5 weeks left of the contest. Please help us get through this final stretch, folks!

Read on for a description of the tasks that have been completed since the last status update.
