- does the search on drupal site (and out of the box installations) include searching the forums and all others node types? it should...

i'm brand new to systems like drupal, yet i'm an admin who designed a complex information system that drupal should be able to handle - still, i find drupal's site/search/find not entirely intuitive (but i'm getting it figured out through trial and error)

i'm seriously considering getting drupal over phpbb. however, i'm not sure if it'll serve my needs.

I'm trying to set up something like a yahoo group. PHPbb doesn't allow me to post by email unless if i'm replying unless if I'm the administrator. Will Drugal allow me to post by email if I'm not the administrator?

I have a private Drupal site where the anonymous user does not have access, effectively disabling RSS feeds which is perfectly reasonable.

How can I allow my authenticated users access to RSS feeds outside of Drupal? Does the current marketplace aggregation software handle cookie authentication?

I use filestore module tu upload PDF files for a certain application we require. The whole setup works fine, except that when I hit the download link for the file it actually pops up dialog to open a file, as if it is sending download headers to brwser. On other pages where I have pdf files as a simple a href linked directly to a PDF on the file system it will immediatly open up the Acrobat helper app and display PDF within browser. Is there some way to chage the behavior of download link in drupal's filestore modules so that it behaves in similar way to a file stored directly on FS?

I had a brand new drupal website for my birthday. it has been very easy to learn how to use it. but it has happened something strange. sometimes the page regarding blocks changed without my will. the enable/disable settings of the blocks changed and made disappear from my homepage the administer menu. i solved the problem digiting "http://www.dottorpascoli.com/portal/admin/system/block".
in this way i accessed to my administer-menu and reconfigured my blocks settings.
