Hello, we have developed this patch and are looking for people to test.

Cheers,

Creating and Deleting Nodes increases load

Currently load is at 0.5, whenever I create a new page, the load gradually increases to over 30
Whenever I delete a node, it increases to around 30 load.

If I enter admin, the loads jumps ranges to 1-4

This has been going on for around 4-5 months, anyone have a solution, of how I can solve this permanantly.
Please le me know of any information you would that might help solve this.

Drupal performance and bacnhmarks: maximum users, multiple front end servers, etc.

I am working setting up a site with Drupal - which is great, simple, clean and supported!! We are curious as to the performance and limits of Drupal; ie maximum #of users, page views per day, can we have multiple front ends, etc.
Example: if myspace.com or craigslist.org were done with an opensource CMS - would Drupal be able to handle it?

If not Drupal for these two, is there another CMS that could? Plone? We are concerned that as the site grows beyond X users and lots of traffic, are there limits to Drupal

Thanks

Performance tests for Drupal and other CMS?

Hi All!

I have to compare various CMS and want do do a performance test.

server configurations

We just got a dedicated server that will host Drupal, and large file attachments + images.

What's the best configuration... ?

Option A
RAID partitioned into
C drive 12 Gigs
D dive 124 Gigs

or

Option B
RAID partitioned into
C drive 80 Gigs
D dive 64 Gigs

Our server can came preconfigured with Option A... Somehow I think option B would be better.

What's the better configuration to use ?

Protection against Mac OS X Widgets and similar threats

I realize this is not exactly at the core of this forum, but I feel it will become important for the Drupal community:

I host Mac1.no, a fairly large site by norwegian standards. One of their users has managed to create a widget that everyone seems to love. Unfortunately the user who wrote the code is a [self-censored] and created a widget that updates itself every 30 seconds, by reloading the entire page with graphics and everything. Now multiply that by a large number of users, and you have a disaster.
