(1) 500,000 multimedia files on website means 500,000 nodes or not?
(2) Whether all these nodes will be loaded always, or loaded only when they are accessed by someone and release when user moves out of that object.
(3) What performance degradation can be caused by high number of such objects
(4) is there a better way to architect this?
I'm waiting for your solution for the above issues.
Hey all, we just installed the Memcache module and are having lots of log errors like:
Failed to set key: cache_block...
There are all sorts of them for lots of different cache_x's. We have a very simple 1-memcached-per server setup. Is this a normal happening with memcache?
I'm setting up Drupal for a site with some 2000-3000 visits per day (99% anonymous users) with max peaks around 10000 (visits/day), and is looking for a shared host, as I hope that would suffice?
What about Bluehost? Experiences of running a site of this dimension on Bluehost, anybody?
Other alternatives I'm looking into is AN Hosting and Dreamhost. Any other alternatives welcome too, if you can motivate =).
I read that Bluehost run PHP via FastCGI. What does that implicate in terms of running Drupal?
We have just updated our drupal from 5.1 to 5.2 on a apache server with 2.8 mhz processor and 2gb ram... Before update posting comment and deleting a comment was very fast abous 0.5 sec or less. After update, site is also very fast but when we try to post a comment it waits about 5-6 sec. Because of this users clicks on the submit button mutiple times so after prosses it posts multiple comments.
We use normal cache for 3 hours, xtracker module, live disscussions, Xtracker module and comment module.... Where can be the problem? Any one has an idea?
Since I've noticed the issue with speed and Drupal sites, I hope core developers are aware of tips like these. What should I do to make all of my Drupal sites (medium traffic) run faster?
