I've installed Drupal 4.7.x, used the phorum converter to migrate my Phorum 5.1 data over and Drupal takes forever to load any of the forum pages...
300,000 records in the node table, 1.6 million in the comments table. This is on a dedicated server with a pretty fast RAID 1 and 1.5GB RAM. Phorum 5.1 on the same server loads all pages always in less than a second. I realize that Drupal isn't optimized to deliver super fast forums, but I'm seeing page load times of 22 seconds for the main forum list and 5-8 pages for forum topics.

I am curioius if Drupal will allow me to setup a style that will make a specific users comments different.
Right now in the theme I am using comments that need approval from unregistered users have a pink background and approved comments are white. How would I go about making the comments from the user "me" have a different style, like a blue background?
Simiarly, is there a way to en masse style all registered users styled one way and unregistered another.
I'm working with Drupal 4.7.2. On my page, usually when a user logs in, s/he sees two new links: My Account, and Logout. I have just created a new role, and when I login with a test user in that role, those links to not appear. I see "login" instead, and do not have access to any of the permissions I granted that role. Anyone have anything to suggest?
A couple of weeks ago I made some changes, including disabling some modules which I thought I wasn't using. Some of our older pages looked like this: http://www.unswvolleyball.org/news/feb/2007/new_players
The authoring information is there on the page (as well as being listed on the front page) and the URL is formatted by the date it was made.
