Drupal 4.7.x

Just installed AcidFree for video use on my site. For thumbnail creation it says to use MPlayer as on of the options.

Do I need to download this? Also the predefined path in drupal for MPlayer is /usr/bin/mplayer

I'm new to this, but I can't even seem to find the /usr/ directory.

Can someone give me a few pointers to get me going?

Hey, i'm just checking out the 7.7 beta, and atm it's asking me to disable mbstring.http_input Is this possible to do site specifically? in .htaccess or something, instead of doing it for the entire server?

If your webhost allow the use of .htaccess, there are several options to stop trackback spam (or splogs) from occuring in the first place.

You can stop it via the .htaccess file

I would like to clone the story node type with the addition of a single extra field linked to a specific taxonomy vocabulary.
Basically, I am creating a code examples library and want examples to include free-tagging "Verified on" field to let submitters specify on which SDKs they tested their code.

Could you please, point me where to start?
Handbook example on creating a node type looks well, but I can't find there how to add such an extra field

I used to have a drupal site

the url was like : www.mysite.com/ext/xyz

the /xyz got accidently deleated. I used to have Drupal 4.5 or 4.6, i really forgot. Now i have installed 4.7-- beta (the latest) directly into the folder /ext (/xyz not created). Now i want to connect the database.

Some can aid me?

I want to create a list of web links that can be rated, commented on, and sorted by rating. Does drupal come with or have a module capable of this? Also i need to be able to customize the template of this link page...

I spent the last 2 days setting up postnuke only to find that the template cannot be changed. so i figured id ask here before i devoted the time setting up a drupal site.
