Drupal 4.7.x

I'm using drupal 4.7.5.
I want to give permission to some users to access only discussion forum.It mean they cannot do anything except posting on discussion forum.
But when i create the user account, it automatically create as an authenticated user and the user can also create the content.
How to control that permission for the users?
Any ideas are welcome.

I would like to have the taxonomy_block functionality with views.
It seems to me that with views you can have a view with the url like... taxonomy/term/{term} {term} is the name of the term.
And in this view the functionality as a block like taxonomy_block is inserted.

Does somebody have made a view with the taxonomy_block functionality?
Can you please export your view and place it here please?

then unzipped it and moved it to modules directory.

in the admin/modules , I don't see it.

Two sites running v4.7 are throwing up nearly identical errors at the top of the page. I'm also not able to log in. Other sites on the same server (5.x) seem to be running all right.

The sites are on my own FreeBSD server which I recently upgraded to v6.2, followed by reinstalls of Apache 1.3 and Php 5.1.2, etc. Output of php - i is pasted below, followed by the error messages.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated, with thanks.

I want to display a weekly trivia question on my site, with a form to submit the answer/ email address. I don't want to have to go in and make sure I edit the question every Monday or whenever though; I'm thinking enter a year's worth at a time. I can't figure out how to tick through the questions so it changes. My only ideas have been to either hack the events module list view, or add my own database/PHP code maybe in combination with cron. If anyone has a better idea, I'd love to hear it!
