CCK content types access control

I want to control access for creating CCK content types for the users.I'm using drupal 4.7.5.
If the user who has permission only for accessing forum, i want that user to create only
"forum topics" content.
I don't want that user to create other content types like "page", "story" and other custom-made content types.
How to control that user to access only for "forum topics" content?
Any idea or suggestions are welcome.

Creating multiple nodes from single form

Hiya!

I have a form that contains one large text box and a few other fields. I want to create multiple nodes, one for each line in the large text box (all these nodes would have the same values for the other fields). I plan to use views to display various views of these nodes.

Now optimally I would use a content type created with CCK. Can this be done? Or do I need to make my own module, make my form with the FormAPI, and make my own node content type? Thanks!

iloveshop.com, a full-featured retail website w/AJAX and heavily modified ecommerce

http://www.iloveshop.com

There was a ton of custom work done for this project, including:

-An AJAX-powered, node-containing wishlist
-UPS Worldship integration
-Prototype.js powered navigational taxonomy-based menu
-Vast amounts of hacking code to get ecommerce modules functioning how one would expect them to
-Content types containing color swatches and a lightbox popup
-Automatic unpublishing of subproducts (and eventually products) when their inventory depletes

How to find the user object in smarty?

I'm trying to get access to the user object to display a logged in user's name on the theme. Does anyone have any ideas how to get to this (other than altering the Smarty engine)? I'm hoping the variable is already in smarty and I just don't have the correct name.

Thanks!

tinymce makes problems

Hi

I installed it now and the site admin is very very slow.
everything takes years to do.

-- when I resize letters to 200% they come back to normal size after submitting, why is that?

-- imce module works but I can't upload images, how to do this?

Is it really a good idea to work with tinymce or the are ways around this?

Thanks

Upgraded 4.6 to 4.7 and now problems...

I recently upgraded a drupal site for my fraternity. I was not the one who setup the original site or server. I copied the files and db from an apache setup on ubuntu to a winserver 2003 setup with the latest php and msql.

By upgrading to 4.7, the sessions not sticking problems was fixed but I still have a few problems. I am very much new to Drupal, but not so much the realm of CMS's.

I am just looking to be pointed in the right direction so that I can fix my own problems, but I'll take any help I can get.

Currently I have a local setup of the live site-that is what i upgraded and is what I am working on getting to work before replacing the live site.

THE PROBLEM:
I do not know what functionality/module governs this, but the upgrade has seemed to break it. I need to know what allows one to enter in the following text:

|_. Gamma Eta Alumni||
|"Major Thomas B. McGuire":tb_mcguire|"Willis Mead Everett, Jr":willis_mead_everett_jr|
|"Ensign Joseph Briggs Stubbins":joseph_briggs_stubbins|"Robert McAlpine Maxwell":robert_mcalpine_maxwell|
|"Edward Barton Hamm":edward_barton_hamm|"Oliver Whiting Bishop":oliver_whiting_bishop|

And have it turn into a table
