Next/Previous links fail in forum after upgrading to 4.5.6

I'm seeing a weird error since I upgraded our production site to 4.5.6 yesterday.

When browsing Forum topics using the "next topic" and "previous topic" links, after advancing a few times through the forum, I'll get an error:

Fatal error: Cannot create references to/from string offsets nor overloaded objects in /srv/www/lliurex/http/drupal-4.5.6/modules/filter.module on line 1023

Is this a known bug I should file, or did I do something wrong when upgrading? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Installing Blog

Ive downloaded drupal-4.6.4 and have read the installation file but the thing is the instructions to me seem not very clear. I have access to my host via ftp and web and i do not really know how to use a command like as the instructions are suggesting via command line?

Thnaks!

Error handling: is there a way to send an email to the site admin when somethings wrong?

I did some minor maintenance on a Drupal site earlier. Checked and proofed the changes and then went off to do something else only to come back to get a FATAL ERROR: Duplicate entry.... etc. etc,

I've no idea how or why it was happening..but I remembered it before when I accidentally deleted the UID zero from the users table (UID = 0) so I was abel to sort it quite quickly.

The embarrasing thing is that the site would be still not working for others if I hadn't of popped back in for a second.

missing elements in creation of test site

Hey all-

So i started the process of upgrading, but before I could do that, i needed to create a test site. Well, here's the problem:

I followed all the directions at http://drupal.org/upgrade/copying-your-site-via-GUI but now my test site is missing all the design elements from the original. What file did I fail to install?

upgrade broke comments

I just updated from 4.5.5 to 4.5.6 and now all my comment area are not even a letter wide. So commenting is effectively broken. Is there a fix or do I have to forego the security for functionality?

Thanks, Susan.
