Drupal 4.5.x or older

IS it possible to put content directly in category and not in section? I need to make one level category and pute the content on the firs level of categor, not the secon (section level). is there a plugin maybe?

I cannot understadn why when i create new content i do not see the menu for association with section and category. There are section and category published, but way to associate it with categ or section. Am i missing something?

I just found Drupal yesterday because I've been asked to do a web project (political campaign) with the following requirments,

1. Blog like feature.

2. 2 column layout.

3. Ability to link to 3rd party sites for surveys (surveymonkey.com) and accepting donations (clickandpledge.com).

4. I need to add forms that visitors can fill out and I can submit to an email address... So I'm going to need to add such forms to drupal. Is that easy?

I know things are very busy...with Dries getting married etc. and Drupal 4.7 motoring towards it's subsequent release, but, I was just wondering if it would be worth having a Drupal Users Survey...with a simple, anonymous/voluntary questionnaire, such as;

core questions

(a) What version/versions of Drupal are you using ?

(b) how many sites do you have online that use Drupal?

(c) which modules are you using?

(d) what type of server are you using (linux/windows/other) ?

(e) what type of database are you using (MYSQL/Other) ?

(f) If you know, what version of php do you have on your server?

(g) If you know, what version of MYSQL do you have ?

(h) what is your preferred browser (for visiting Drupal.org) ?

(i) what is the most/least visited part of Drupal.org for you?

(j) have you created any useful modules/theme items but have not contributed them to drupal.org, if yes, are they downloadable from somewhere?

(k) Do you use a dedicated server for your projects, a shared server, VPS, or other/all?

(A) Before Drupal, did you use another tool for buildling sites and which one(s)?

(B) How did you come across Drupal?

(C) If there was one thing you would change about Drupal, what would it be?

(d) which host(s) do you use?

Incidentally, please don't post your answers to those questions here...the data capture should be done properly so it can be used properly.

I am working on a classified ads module that integrates with Drupal, and possibly release it to the drupal community if there are sufficient interest.
