taxonomies for og

Dear friends,

I would like to know how to make taxonomies (vocabulary and terms) specific for organic groups?
is it possible?? I would also like to use taxonomie_otf but the cvs version with just the file taxonomies_otf.module doesn't work.

Any word of help??

Come on....

bye colleagues!!

ourmedia.org's organic group module

I've asked this before somewhere on this site and got no response so i'm posting it again.

On Marc's blog here:
http://marc.blogs.it/archives/2005/07/groups_live_our.html
it is mentioned that "ALL Drupal systems can now share and benefit from this module (the organic group module for ourmedia.org)."

Is this updated module already available for the Drupal community?

Santa Claus needs a hand with this web site.

Last year we started something that was a big hit and this year I want to start a lot earlier to really improve on what we did last year.
Let me explain…..
SantasHeart.org is a site that is dedicated to helping volunteers who want to help needy children by answering the letters these kids write to Santa Claus.
You see every year millions of children write letters to Santa and while most of the letters are truly answered by their parents there are a lot of children who are in situations where the parents or “parent” is not able to provide the basic necessities much less the toys that Santa is famous for providing.

Since the early 1900’s the Post office has collected the letters sent to Santa and they are available after December 5th at regional post offices for volunteers to sort through and pick out the letters that they would like to answer. And the Volunteer agrees to send the child a written letter as if from Santa himself and if the volunteer is so moved to do so they send gifts to the children that wrote the letter.

I got involved last year and we put together a web based system that enabled volunteers to scan the letters and up load them to our site and then people who couldn’t get to the regional post offices to get letters could visit our web site and get letters there.

Locally we were a big success and I am proud to say we helped 390 families with children in need. There was help from up above and we really got a ton accomplished in an incredibly small amount of time

Groups

I'm working on subgroups module. I want to maximize compatibilities with other modules, so I'm basing it on organic groups, though I think there are some key differences in application: The "view" page of an organic group node shows other nodes and a welcome message. I define a "group" to mean a set of people and subgroups (possibly with "role" text assigned to each), so by this definition the "view" of a group shows the tree that defines the group. Similarly, "edit" allows one to add and remove users

I'd like organic groups to be used to define access control lists to various data and actions throughout a drupal site. I'd also like web services on sites that aren't hosting a given group to have some access to group definitions. This might require OpenIDs for members, URLs that represent groups, and sharing an XML roster of a group at that URL for other sites to use - possibly restricted somehow in some cases. This should probably be a separate module from the subgroups module, but play well with groups and subgroups.

The real-life groups for which I'm inspired to code have members who I'd like listed, but who won't be users of the site immediately, or possibly ever. Therefore, a "missing users" feature set is important. This should probably be a separate module from organic groups and organic subgroups, but it should play well with them, as invite codes for missing users to assume an identity should only be generated by appropriate existing users.

Moderated chat module wanted

Are there any chat modules suited to having a moderated forum? I.e. not a free for all chat room but a more controlled way in which users can submit questions that the moderator then approves for the guest to respond to.

Administrative features like the ability to convert a log of the chat session to a story would be a bonus. AJAX would be nice but not required.

AJAX IM

Hi Guys,

Version 2 of AJAX IM (http://www.unwieldy.net/ajaxim/) seems pretty cool and simple.

I'm no PHP/MySQL wizard, but I assume with a couple of tweaks it could hook into the Drupal Username/Password tables...

Any thoughts on what changes to make?

Cheers,

Alex
