Theme development

Hi,

Can anyone tell me how to adjust the width of the left sidebar on the BlueMarine theme?

I expected that changing the width here would work:

#sidebar-left, #sidebar-right {
background-color: #ddd;
width: 16em;
/* padding in px not ex because IE messes up 100% width tables otherwise */
padding: 10px;
vertical-align: top;
}

I have a CCK node and am using Contemplate. I really suck at CSS and would love it if someone could help me get this layout. Yeah, I know it's a lot to ask, but I'm hoping I can cash in a little karma from helping others in the forums. ;)

Brown - Div with Photo / Movie / Slideshow
Pink - Div with text. Shoud wrap if long enough.
Light green - Right floating box
Dark green - Individual content divs
Red - Div with a table in it
Yellow - Div with a table in it
Orange - Banner ad

I am having problems trying to create different styled tabs, which you probably see say when you want to edit an article, or login / register on this forum. The only example I have seen of this working is on the drupal.org website:

Commented the automatic production the title number of words too to beshort, how many characters did I want to adjust am many, was allowedto revise in where?

Hi all - I've made some basic changes to my drupal theme but I've got div problems in IE that i can't for the life of me work out.

The right colum is dropping below the left content region when it should be sitting alongside.

Any help would be a godsend (-:

I recently upgraded to Drupal 4.7.4 and I'm having a problem with the search box on my site. I've narrowed it to a missing "form_token" form field but I'm unsure how to add it to the search-box.tpl.php in order to get it to show up.

I'm aware that the form_token is new to 4.7.4 to prevent cross-site scripting issues - is anyone else having this issue with custom themes and the search box?
