Theme development

Just curious...

How much of the Theme Developers Guide (http://drupal.org/node/509) is still relevant in Drupal 5?

Are there differences in how Drupal 5 handles themes as opposed to Drupal 4.x?

I have a website www.ndu.org.nz (login with ndu and password nedludd).

On the page http://ndu.org.nz/services you can see that the text goes over the edge of the page.

I can't figure out why. I'm not the best CSS person.

I though I had limited the size of the page by having a set width of 800px but it goes over it anyway...

How do you get rid of the title on a ? I want to make a horizontal menu across the top, with out it having a big huge h2 header title...help please...

This may be a really silly question but I cant find the answer anywhere and its giving me a headache!!!

Is there any simple way of changing the width of blocks. For instance I have a right hand block with some google ads in, there only 130 wide but I think the block is locked at 300 so theres lots of wasted space around them

Ive looked through all the CSS files and I cant find mention of the widths, I may be looking in the wrong place. Has anyone any ideas?

I run a community website on Delhi called www.delhilive.com

The design for the site was done sometime ago and I have been asked to get it redesigned. For sometime now I have been trying to get it done, but for one reason or the other have not managed it. Now, I would like the drupal community to get involved and help me get the site redesigned.

I've been working with Drupal for a long while and have built numerous modules, but I admittedly know very little about theming. I usually refer this stuff to my theming counterpart, but he's out of town and I need to make a change to home.tpl.php.

Specifically, I need to change the definition of the $side_left variable. The content there is currently static and I need to replace it with dynamically promoted node items (which periodically rotate via a cron function.)
