Theme development

There are numerous examples in the forums on how to resize images within the teasers, usually involving the installation of multiple modules, or adding some code here and there. All too much for my simple brain to figure out (let's just say there were a number of failed attempts on my part.)

So I went ahead and used CSS to resize images. Granted, it's not as pretty as the result I imagine the aforementioned methods will give you. These resized images are a little crunchy, and the full image is still loaded, so you're not saving any page load time with this method. However it's good enough for me for now, until a simple way to activate thumbnails in teasers is integrated into the core code.

Presently I'm working a site that will be divided into three distinct sections. Each section will have its own template as assigned by term through the module "taxonomy theme". This appears to be working fine, but my problem is that I want to assign separate menu blocks to separate themes as well. For example, I only want the real estate menu to appear on pages that use the real estate theme, and so on.

I've tried to influence on the appearance of a block, inserting PHP Code in the appearance rules with the block admin interface. I want the block to appear, if a regular expression finds distinct words in the content part of the website ($node->body). My problem, neither $content nor $node are available in the functions, that let the blocks appear.

Under the content it says "blog off ... " "read more" and the taxanomy. I want to delete the "blog", and add some text before taxanomy. But i can't find the right place where i can alter the code.
