Theme development

We've just had a new theme made but it has left all the content, forums, views, etc with plain vanilla formatting, dealing mostly with front page (totally new) and content page header and footer.

I've installed both Web Developer and Firebug FF extensions which look like they'll be great aids in finding which style sheet is affecting what.

Problem with my theme not conforming to IE6 only with the H2 tag.. It goes away ...

where does $submitted variable created and how can i modify it?

i want to remove the date value. i can do it with php but i prefer phptemplate.

Hi all, it's my first time I am building a site with Drupal and I am having lots of problems as you can expect from a first timer. I cannot get my menu to align to the left, without any space between the edge and the menu.

I am basing my theme upon Zen, and I tried to position the menu by altering #sidebar-left .block ul il class, but instead of positioning the whole menu, it shifts every button to the left (see screenshot)

i've a flexible menu-bar. There I've set a vertical repeating image, but I just want to see this image in the first level. Because at the moment, the items from the second level overwrite my image.

Do you know how to set this image just for the first-level-items?
