Theme development

I realize that using Drupal with Views and Panel modules is a very powerfull system. The problem begin when I want theming Views. It isn't so easy understand how to simplify and personalyze the Views css class. I try to modify the phptemplate_views_view functions as said in the post forum :

Is there someone that could help me to understand one way to custumize the css classes of Views module?

hello, i'd like to add a new class to my garland,

.node.img {
border:1px;
padding:3px;
margin-left:10px;
margin-right:10px;
margin-top:10px;
margin-bottom:5px;
}

my idea is use this class only to the picture that are in the nodes.

I paste it in garland, and check the tiMYNCE style option but i don't see it. I yes see it in Zen theme.
There are any problem to add new kind of class to garland.

Hi i am using the SEO position theme, here is a screenshot of it. http://blamcast.net/files/seoposition_drupal_theme.png im curious how to add a block to the at the bottom of the right hand side. i want it to be the same size as the sidebar top, id like there to be a sidebar bottom, how would i go about doing this? I am trying to fetch $node-type in my block.tpl.php file because I want to show a specific image depending on the node type. But this variable is empty.

How am I able to get the node type in my block template?
