Theme development

I hope I can word this correctly so as not to just be confusing.

First, I'm very new to Drupal, quite familiar with html, css but new to php.

I have been working on with two modules, i.e. 'Views' and 'Panels' to style a page. It has been very good till now.

But lately I faced a problem:-

I wanted to create a view, where the elements are presented in horizontal manner.

Suppose I have six items A,B,C,D,E,and F.
Each with - 1.Thumbnail 2.Comments 3.No of Views

I have a theme on my website (ukypwm.org.uk) at the moment (download fom http://www.osskins.com/main/drupal/free-drupal-theme-licorice/2007/03/28 - demo does not work).

What I want to do is insert an image into the header. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

The CSS code of the header is:

I don't want my members to create any content. I can't seem to get rid of the 'create content' link. They do not have any permissions to create content, so when you hit the create content link, it just says "No content types available."

The create content link in the menu admin just says "edit" and "reset" there is no "disable" like there is on every other menu item, reset doesn't help either.

Any suggestions?

How is it done to have my articles displayed side by side two to a row rather than listed vertically. Please see www.opendemocracy.org for example

Hello, i'd like how zen show the taxonomy list, when you see them you can read first the vocabulary and them the taxonomy.
