Rainbow Center

So I'm finishing tweaking this site tonight. Just looking for some opinions on things I might have missed.

This is actually the first time I have taken a straight CSS layout and converted it to a theme. Prior to this I had just modified the
contributed themes, like zen. The site is simple, it provides information and contact info.

The frontpage is going to be news stories posted by the Rainbow Center staff and I will have a view displaying
the latest news on the left column.

I have the three little nav buttons on the bottom right of the page.

New drupal social voting site

Using the instructions out at ventureskills we made a drupal site that works like digg, we are not affiliated with venture skills, but wanted to see how well the instructions worked, and they worked great. http://yasvs.com/ is our digg clone based on those instructions, let us know what you think. thanks!

Reality Sandwich - Group Blog and Social Network

We've just launched the beta of Reality Sandwich, a group blog -- built with Drupal by CivicActions -- for an emerging global network of intersecting communities that includes Burning Man participants, utopian techies, radical environmentalists, spiritual seekers, yoga enthusiasts, and the electronic dance scene.

The site is at http://www.realitysandwich.com.

The challenge facing us was to make the range of topics the site covers clear to any visitor, and to show the inter-connection between them to those who might not immediately recognize the site's gestalt. We chose to make the site's taxonomy a strong element in the design, prominently labeling each post with one of the six main categories: psyche, eco, tech, life, commons, and arts.

Another interesting aspect of the design is its use of color, which is particularly bold, with many of the text elements changing color dynamically with each page reload.

We intend to turn the site into a full-on social network, so that registered users can easily connect with each other, based on shared interests. To do so, we will be extending current Drupal modules. In the meantime, we're enabling all registered users to post comments, create public user profiles, and ping each other through the "contact" feature. We're also using CiviCRM to manage the user accounts.

Here's the launch announcment:
