MFXG - Drupal Websites for the Showcase

Drupal Community,

About 6 months ago, we re-tooled our web development production facility to accomodate Drupal. We were encouraged by local (Vancouver, BC) teams (Raincity Studios & Bryte). Actually, jealousy is the appropriate word.

Diving into Drupal was not too hard. The benefit is that production time is a fraction of previous projects, and the end result is a more reliable, robust product for our clients. With our capabilities increasing, our projects are looking less like the off-the-shelf Drupal, and more like custom development (without the head-ache and the bugs).

As an instructor of Information Architecture and Interface Design at BCIT, I was not orginally keen on the idea of using an open source code, content management system. And in the early stages, it seemed like you could pick out the Drupal/WordPress/Joomla sites from the rest. Kinda like the early days of Front Page website templates (late 90's). But not any more...

Here are the first few sites we developed using Drupal:

Canadian Critical Care Conference - www.canadiancriticalcare.ca
Celebrities Night Club- www.celebritiesnightclub.com
BC Outreach Program for Fetal Alcohol - FASD - www.fasdoutreach.ca
BC Outreach Program for Autism - POPARD - www.autismoutreach.ca
Pacific Legion - www.legionbcyukon.org

Artist site launched - www.dashdotdash.net

Just relaunched an artist site www.dashdotdash.net.

The site is built in Drupal 5.2 and relies heavily on the excellent imagecache module.

Other modules include many of the CCK content types, path auto etc.

Currently integrating flv into the content with a custom player - should be ready soon.I also found myself opening the wonderful Pro Drupal Development book - a real must have for anyone developing in Drupal.

Thanks again to the wonderful community that develops such a flexible and robust CMS.

Reverting to Foliage Again!

Hello All,
I have always been a big fan of Foliage but for about 8 months i decided to try afew other Themes.
Well here I am again showing off another Foliage out come of my website. I have not even done anything serious with the css since the summer start of my wedding business.

My plan now is to get back in the groove over the next few weeks and come up with a xml driven flash foliage layout.

Right now i am just using a third party xml header and adding it as a header block.

OSDN: Just maybe a good idea, or a really good excuse to fling tomatoes. . .

Hello fellow Drupalites!

The OSCMS Summit (Sunnyvale) earlier this year was just awesome, and it inspired me to one of my "crazy ideas". . . sometimes dangerous things, my ideas are. Anyway, I have been quietly working on this crazy idea for the last while and finally do I think that it's time to get some feedback/constructive criticism. Dum da dum.

Now, before everyone starts jumping up and down, polishing their tomatoes and preparing to fling them at me and my admittedly amateur web and design skills, hear me out. Or don't (the link to my drupal site is at the bottom of this post).
