Drupal Community,
About 6 months ago, we re-tooled our web development production facility to accomodate Drupal. We were encouraged by local (Vancouver, BC) teams (Raincity Studios & Bryte). Actually, jealousy is the appropriate word.
Diving into Drupal was not too hard. The benefit is that production time is a fraction of previous projects, and the end result is a more reliable, robust product for our clients. With our capabilities increasing, our projects are looking less like the off-the-shelf Drupal, and more like custom development (without the head-ache and the bugs).
As an instructor of Information Architecture and Interface Design at BCIT, I was not orginally keen on the idea of using an open source code, content management system. And in the early stages, it seemed like you could pick out the Drupal/WordPress/Joomla sites from the rest. Kinda like the early days of Front Page website templates (late 90's). But not any more...
Here are the first few sites we developed using Drupal:
Canadian Critical Care Conference - www.canadiancriticalcare.ca
Celebrities Night Club- www.celebritiesnightclub.com
BC Outreach Program for Fetal Alcohol - FASD - www.fasdoutreach.ca
BC Outreach Program for Autism - POPARD - www.autismoutreach.ca
Pacific Legion - www.legionbcyukon.org
