LuvaCup.ca - Gourmet Office Coffee Service

After a few short days, I have created, tested and launched a new website for LuvaCup Gourmet Coffee Service.

It isn't the most flashy site, nor does it have a tonne of cool functionality, but it does get the message across about our new venture, and hopefully it will help us take our new side venture to the next level!

Have a look at http://www.luvacup.ca and let me know what you think.

BZ - Customized Drupal music community

Hello Drupes,

BZ just made the full switch to Drupal. Before yesterday, I was using an integration bridge between Vanilla and Drupal. And before that, an integration bridge between vBulletin (shudder) and Drupal. Now I'm using Drupal 100% thanks to the advanced forum module.. (wish I would have found that before doing the vanilla integration)

BZ used to be a fan-site for the metalcore band Zao, but my personal interest in the band has decreased a lot.. and instead of killing the small community I had, I decided to turn it into something more. Drupal was perfect for what I needed, and now I have a completely customized site with (at the moment) a band / album / music database, and forums.

All together, BZ took me probably a total of two months to achieve where it's at now, but I started out a "n00b" and am now pretty educated with Drupal.

Anyways, the theme is 100% custom. I did take a few items from hunchbaque's template.php, and I integrated the Blueprint CSS framework to follow the grid type layout.

Almost everything was done with CCK and Views, although I do have quite the collection of modules installed.

www.GatorTailgating.com - Florida Gator Football & Tailgating Community

Hailing from the depths of the swamp, I'd like to showcase my first Drupal website at www.GatorTailgating.com.

This site could not have been possible without drupal and the tremendous community support available, including all of the modules.

Please comment, and suggest improvements!

Thanks!

-Mike

Personal Finance Buzz

PFBuzz.com -- short for Personal Finance Buzz -- is a social network portal dedicated to personal finance niche. Basically, it's a portal put together by a personal finance blogger for personal finance bloggers and readers. The primary features of the site include:

* Social network portal, similar to Digg
* Random site showcase, similar to Stumble Upon
* News aggregator (aka Planet)
* Blog (single user, mainly for site news)
* Forums to discuss personal finance topics

Only local images are allowed.

History

At first I didn't realize a blogger with limited programming skill could start a Digg-like site. Then I came across a software called Pligg. PFBuzz.com was started as a Pligg site in its beta stage, but about 4 days before launched, I discovered Drigg. Drigg is a powerful Drupal module that turns Drupal 5.x into a Digg like site. With all the features and support of Drupal, I was sold. The site was quickly switched over to Drigg and launched on time (that's how easy it was to modify Drigg/Drupal site to meet my needs).

The Vintage Aviator - Build Story

The Vintage Aviator - Front page, on release, May 2008

Last week, I released thevintageaviator.co.nz. It was probably one of the most challenging Drupal sites I've ever done, but also the best so far. It's a presentation of a local WW1 Warplane workshop, containing build stories, reference material, and thousands of great images of plane reproductions and archive materials.

The build story is a long one, mostly because the requirements shifted along the way quite a bit. This story is targeted at current Drupal site developers who are interested in the tools and techniques used. Mostly to head off the "so how did you do that?" questions we get whenever we do a write-up :-)

However among the interesting thing for developers and designers will be the complex layered look, the way this layout was optimized to scale to all screen sizes, and the surgery I did to Drupal to make this all happen.

Initial feedback we've received so far has been overwhelmingly positive (save some justified grumbles about the page weight) and I'd like to share this case study.
