Looking for great Drupal examples on info and social networking web sites

Hi

I am looking to develop an information and social networking site that offers subscribers access to an array of content (text, image, pod, vod etc) and found the Drupal open source offering as a result of searches on how to develop web sites. Drupal looks like its a good possibility for me as it appears to do what I am looking to develop, Content or Information indexed under headings or categories and also sub categories, members would need to login to the web to access the vast majority of the content and also use social networking or wiki type functionality.

BetterNetworker.com Launched - Social Network Joomla Conversion with 17,000 members!

After about 4 months of development, we've launched http://www.betternetworker.com!

BetterNetworker is an online community for the network and internet marketing industry.

The original site was built on Joomla 1.0.13, along with community builder. The new community is now on Drupal 5.x.

Part of this build out involved converting all membership data, including friends, photo galleries, forum posts (from FireBoard), all content (6,000+ articles and videos), comments, statistical data, for over 16,000 users.

Since our site launch, we've gained over 1,000 members in a week.

Its full featured social network with features including:

- Articles, Videos, Podcasts, Classifieds, Groups
- Fully customized member profile layouts
- Integration with PhpBB3 (migrated over 8,000 posts from FireBoard and Joomla)
- Buddy system (User relationships)
- Points and Rewards system
- Twitter style updates (using Dodge)
- Advertising (Using the awesome OpenX platform)
- a whole ton of other stuff.

I'll be doing a full writeup on the experience, how it was built, very soon. A LOT of work was put into templating, design, getting the most out of the real estate, and making it a user friendly and modern experience, and making it perform well with the insane amount of data we're working to display on any given page.

A drupal site made by me

Hello, my name is Leandro, I'm from argentina, i just wanted to show a site that i developed with drupal: www.clanstug.com.ar, it's for a clan of gamers of the game "call of duty: united ofensive". There are still some details to finish, but basically it's completed. I'm quite happy with this site because it's the "cleanest" drupal site i've done. I've recently began undertanting module developments and advance theming tecniques so i applied all those new skills to the site.

Community Arts Preschool

Overview
Community Arts Preschool is a straightforward Drupal implementation for a small school. The goal was to create a clean and simple design that provided an easy navigation flow for prospective parents as well as parents with students currently enrolled in the school. The web address is www.communityartspreschool.com

Modules
We leveraged the following key contributed modules: CCK, Views, imagefield, imagecache, calendar, date, and pathauto.

We implemented this project in Drupal 5 because the Date, Calendar, and Imagecache modules were not quite ready at the time of go-live. We anticipate upgrading to Drupal 6 in the near future.

This implementation required zero code customizations to core or contributed modules and only minor CSS stylesheet changes.

Design and Theming
We also decided against our standard practice of building a custom theme, since the client's needs from a marketing and branding perspective were fairly basic. Instead, to save effort and cost, we leveraged the free Tapestry theme from the folks at RoopleTheme and made some minor enhancements. While this approach limited our ability to be even more creative with graphical layout, it just made sense given the client's basic needs and budget.

1st Drupal Site

Hi all

Hi all, I'm brand new to drupal, and this is my first drupal site ( took about 40 hours). Drupal is pretty quick for some stuff once you get oriented! So, I made 2 small custom modules to use the YouTube and Flickr API's. Are these worth contributing? There are small and quick to develop.
