Post installation

I have install the latest version of Drupal and am try to set up the event module. I can install the module but when I try to create an event I get a 'page not found error'. Can anybody advise me on how to setup a module properly?

A poll I recently created reverted to being "closed" each time a vote was cast. It was set up to remain open for a week. After a vote was cast, the "closed/open" dropdown displayed "closed" and teh next user coudl not vote until I did admin on it and changed it to being "open."

What am I missing? (I've used polls be 4.3.2 and earlier versions.)

Hello - I've got a general question - not sure if it's theme related or if it's site admin/content related. I often put a picture in the beginning of a node as part of the node content, here's an example of what I'm doing:

<img src="/foo/bar/image.jpg" hspace=4 border=0 align=right>
<h3>Some Title</h3>
Some text about some nifty story, with a niftier image that
should display to the right ...

However,I've found that the Teaser display causes serious formatting issues if the image is bigger than the block of text that gets slurped into the teaser block.

Specifically, the image will float down past the end of the teaser output, and float into the next nodes information. This is particularly unsightly and a serious issue if you have several teasers displayed, and several images all floating past the boundaries of the teaser output.

I'm using 4.4.0 release with XTemplate. Is there some HTML, CSS, etc... magic I can use around the image to insure that the teaser node output/block is expanded to encompass the same size as the image so the unsightly formatting issues go away?

In a previous post I was asking about having multi-author blogs (that is, like in MovableType, it is possible to set up a set of blogs that allow only specified users to post into these blogs. I posted previously (here http://drupal.org/node/view/6909) on this. I have run across the projects module since that post, and I have been attempting to figure out if that will do the trick. Anyone have infinitely more experience than I on this?

For my site, I would like to be able to post a topic and when I choose more than one term for it I want it to be submitted to all those forum(term)s. Now all the chosen terms are shown in the top right corner of the post but the post itself is submitted to only one of them. True that a topic can be associated with more than one term, but I want users who browse the different sections of the forum to be able to find topics that are relevant to those forum terms listed directly on all the forum/id pages too.

I have a RSS feed that requires a username and password. If I enter the feed as: http://user:pass@site.com, I still receive a 401 error. Is there a modification required to the url parser in common.inc to pass the username and password values?
