Post installation

I have a couple of questions concerning the ping.module.

1) When stories, pages and posts other than blog entries call the ping.module? Specifically, I don't want to send out pings after I've added a new event or some other inappropriate addition.

2) I've read a few posts about updates to the ping module that allow it to contact technorati.com and others. I'm not sure of the best way to update my current non-CVS install with these new features. How would I do this?

I've tried using the IconBuilder Pro Photoshop filter, so far to no avail.

Can anyone point me towards a better program or give me some kinda step-by-step instructions?

when I go to admin >> content >> site cloud I get this error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: table() in /var/www/html/modules/cloud.module on line 146

I read in this forum weblink module can do the same that site cloud but I cant use it so that old histories in my web appear on one block (it seem url monitoring doesn´t work)

my users and I do not get mail when they subscribe to something, is there a way I can check it?

the smileys module is installed and the users have permission on it, but when using it, they don't appear?
any suggestions?

when posting some things I can see that the time is 2 hours behind, how do I correct this?
